Title

Driver's License/ ID
Document requirements vary depending on whether or not the customer is currently REAL ID compliant in Florida, which is indicated by a star in the upper right-hand corner of the Florida driver's license or ID card, and their immigration/ residency status. I Need To
Get My Florida Learner's License
You must bring documents that validate your identity, Social Security Number (SSN) and Orange County residential address. For most customers, those documents are 1) your birth certificate or passport and 2) your social security card and 3) two proofs of Orange County residential address from a parent or guardian.

If Your Name Has Changed
If you have legally changed your name by marriage, divorce or court order, you must submit an original or certified U.S. marriage certificate(s), U.S. divorce document(s) or other court order(s). Copies are not accepted unless certified by the issuing authority. Click here to learn about other requirements for first time drivers.
Marriage certificates must be recognized by the state of Florida. Generally, marriage certificates issued in Florida or another state in accordance with the respective laws of those states are recognized by the State of Florida. Change My Name on My Florida Driver's License or ID
Follow these steps to change your name on your driver’s license or ID.
Immigrants & Nonimmigrants
Customers who have legally changed their name by marriage, divorce or court order must also update their USCIS documents to reflect their name change before they can update their name on their driver's license or ID.

Various suspensions and violations, such as parking and toll violations, may place a hold on your driver’s license and registration.
Written (Learner's License) & Road Driving Test
Written Test
To obtain a learner's license, customers must be at least 15-years-old, complete the Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education Course, pass the Road Signs and Road Rules Test (aka written test) and pass the Vision and Hearing Test.
Driving Test
To obtain an Intermediate Driver’s License, customers must be at least 16-years-old and have held their learner’s license for at least one year or until their 18th birthday with no traffic convictions and pass the Road Test.
Tag Renewal & Registration
Please bring your:
- Previous registration or registration renewal notice.
- Current proof of Florida Property Damage and Personal Injury Protection insurance issued by a Florida agent or broker.
- Valid driver's license, ID card, or an unexpired U.S. passport.
- Unexpired foreign passports are accepted only if they include:
- A U.S. Department of Homeland Security stamp showing lawful presence in the U.S.; or
- An unexpired I-94, permanent resident card, or immigrant visa issued by U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Disabled Parking Placard
Please download, complete and bring the Application for Disabled Parking Permit. There is no charge for a four-year Disabled Parking Permit; the cost for a Temporary Disabled Parking Permit is $15.
