If you’ve lived in Orange County for several years now, you’ve probably noticed a lot of changes to our queueing system. The days of taking tickets to receive motor vehicle services are long gone. Today, our services are scheduled from our website, octaxcol.com.
Prior to 2020, customers could schedule appointments or be serviced as a walk-in, but the queuing system had a difficult time meeting our expectations for quality customer service. Walk-ins received estimated wait times which fluctuated and were oftentimes inaccurate. Something had to change.
Now we serve customers by appointment only, and as a result, we’re able to see more customers each day than ever before. No more estimated wait times. No more lines. When you book an appointment with us, you can be confident that you’ll be served on time.
That leads us to today. Over the course of December, we’ll be transitioning to a completely new system for booking appointments online. Our customers will notice some changes, like the ability to schedule multiple services, and a new mobile and kiosk check-in system when you arrive. We’ll also have enhanced communications to text and email you more information about your appointment. Some things will stay the same: you’ll still book your appointment on our website, octaxcol.com, and you’ll still receive the same top-notch customer service you’ve come to expect.
As we transition to the new system, customers booking appointments during the month of December will notice:
- Beginning Monday, Dec. 5, appointments will be bookable up to 5 days in advance. That’s a change from the typical 30-day window, but it’s necessary for us to transition systems. We are not reducing services, and the same number of appointments will be available, but we are reducing how far in advance appointments can be made.
- Monday, Dec. 26 will be the last day to schedule appointments for Dec. 27 through Dec. 30.
- Tuesday, Dec. 27 will be the first day to schedule appointments under the new system from Jan. 3 and on.
- Our offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 2 in observance of New Year’s Day.
