The Business Tax Application and Declaration must contain:
- Any County or State License, Certification or Competency Card, when applicable; and
- Any Business Tax Receipt required by a local city or town.
Municipal (City/Town) Requirements
The cities of Apopka, Belle Isle, Eatonville, Edgewood, Maitland, Oakland, Ocoee, Orlando, Windermere, Winter Garden and Winter Park require municipal Business Tax Receipts. A municipal Business Tax Receipt must be obtained before applying for an Orange County Business Tax Receipt.

How to Obtain City/Town & Orange County Business Tax Receipt
For Businesses Located Within a Municipality
Confirm Your Business Location is Within a City or Town
- Visit the Orange County Property Appraiser’s website and use their parcel search tool to determine your business's physical address.
- Enter the business's physical address in the Property Address field and click on the search icon.
- Your parcel information, including the owner's Name(s), Physical Street Address, and Municipality will appear toward the top of the search result. If your business is located within a city or town then the municipality will appear under the Municipality field.
- City/town Requirements: If your business is located within Apopka, Belle Isle, Eatonville, Edgewood, Maitland, Oakland, Ocoee, Orlando, Windermere, Winter Garden, or Winter Park, you must first obtain a municipal Business Tax Receipt prior to obtaining an Orange County Business Tax Receipt.

The cities of Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista do not issue a municipal Business Tax Receipt. Business Tax Receipts for businesses located in these cities are obtained directly from the Orange County Tax Collector; no city or county zoning approval is required.
After Obtaining Your City/Town Business Tax Receipt, Visit our Tax Department In Person
Applicants must bring their: (1) Sunbiz Registration, (2) any applicable state licenses, and (3a) original Social Security Card or provide their (3b) Federal Tax ID Number to complete the Business Tax Receipt process, which is as follows:
- Applicant obtains a city/town Business Tax Receipt first;
- Complete the Business Tax Application and Declaration;
- Visit our office;
- Orange County Business Code is assigned;
- Applicant pays the Business Tax Receipt fee; and
- Applicant is issued an Orange County Business Tax Receipt.

How to Obtain an Orange County Business Tax Receipt
For Businesses Located Within Unincorporated Orange County
Confrim Your Business Location is Within Unincorporated Orange County
- Visit the Orange County Property Appraiser’s website and use their parcel search tool to determine your business's physical address.
- Enter the business's physical address in the Property Address field and click on the search icon.
- Your parcel information, including the owner's Name(s), Physical Street Address, and Municipality will appear toward the top of the search result. If your business is located within unincorporated Orange County then "Unincorporated" will appear under the Municipality field.
Submit an Application with Orange County Zoning Division
The Orange County Zoning Division must approve all proposed new businesses located within Unincorporated Orange County. All Business Tax Receipt Zoning Approval Forms must be submitted electronically through Orange County Fast Track.
To Apply for a Business Tax Receipt, please follow these steps:
- Download and Complete Business Tax Receipt Zoning Approval Form.
- Create a Fast Track Account using the online registration form. When creating your account, please choose the “Zoning/BZA category”
- Submit the application online through Orange County Fast Track.
After Zoning Approves Your Application & County Fees are Paid, Visit our Tax Department
Applicants must bring their: (1) Zoning approval letter, (2) Sunbiz Registration, (3) any applicable states licenses and (4a) original Social Security Card or provide their (4b) Federal Tax ID Number to complete the Business Tax Receipt process.
- Visit our office with your Zoning approval letter from the County;
- Fill out our Business Tax Application and Declaration
- Business Code is assigned;
- Applicant pays the Business Tax Receipt fee; and
- Applicant is issued a Business Tax Receipt.
